Renowned for her creative teaching methods, including integrating video games and art into math lessons, she excels in simplifying challenging concepts. Her unique teaching style not only engages students but also fosters a culture of "math esteem," nurturing a positive and enthusiastic outlook on mathematics. Dr. Jones's influence extends globally, as she mentors educators worldwide, having trained over 100,000 teachers in advanced instructional methods.

 

Dr. Jones' commitment to educational excellence has earned her numerous accolades, including the prestigious Presidential Award for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching. She has been recognized by the late Congressman John Lewis and celebrated on multiple occasions by former President Barack Obama. Georgia Trend Magazine's Top 40 Under 40 list features her name, and she is a recipient of the esteemed Platypus Award from Mental Floss magazine. Dr. Jones's advocacy for women and girls in mathematics has been acknowledged by Women in Technology (WIT) and the YWCA.

Beyond her dedicated work at RCA, Dr. Valerie Camille Jones has achieved remarkable success as a coach. She has guided the Essential Step team and six MATHCOUNTS Video Challenge teams to six national championships each, showcasing her expertise and dedication. Dr. Jones' impact extends to the realm of robotics, where she has played a pivotal role in leading the First Lego Robotics League team to prestigious awards. Her influential work in education and mentorship was showcased in the "People Behind the People" special, a collaborative initiative by TVOne and McDonald's celebrating influential figures in the community. She is also an industry California certified Studio Teacher.

In addition to her academic and training pursuits, Dr. Jones's creative talents shine as an educational recording artist, featured on the album "Encore!" and in commercials for Old Navy. Her artistic abilities extend to various media productions, adding an artistic dimension to her educational persona.

In her personal life, Dr. Jones is a devoted wife to Christopher Ford and a loving mother to Carter, Aiden, and Alyssa. Welcome to the world of Dr. Valerie Camille Jones, an extraordinary educator and inspirational leader. Driven by an unwavering passion for mathematics education, she has left an indelible mark on countless lives throughout her illustrious career.

Dr. Jones embarked on her educational journey with a solid foundation in Mathematics at Spelman College. Building upon this, she pursued advanced degrees in Mathematics Education from Georgia State University and Columbia University, further solidifying her expertise. Holding multiple certifications, including elementary education, middle-grade mathematics, 7-12 mathematics, educational leadership, instructional supervision, and gifted education, Dr. Jones epitomizes a lifelong commitment to learning and educational excellence.

Currently serving as the Director of Curriculum and Instruction at Ron Clark Academy (RCA), Dr. Jones is a key player in designing engaging and impactful lessons. Her role involves overseeing the development of innovative curricula, ensuring they align seamlessly with academic standards while embodying RCA's distinctive educational philosophy. Collaborating closely with fellow educators, she crafts lessons that not only educate but also captivate students. Dr. Jones also works collaboratively with faculty to refine teaching methodologies, harness technology effectively, and foster an environment conducive to dynamic learning experiences.
